Maria-José Garcia Butler is a Dominican 32-year-old muralist, graphic designer, and illustrator whose passion for design led her to study marketing and graphic design at her local university. She is the founder of EMEJOTA which was born in 2015 featuring a unique doll named EME - a fictional character that showcases the unique personalities of women in its design which is hand-painted on clear cellphone covers. She was the first artist that said yes to COVEDOZA when we first started and helped catapult future artist collaborations.
