Before you apply: four questions worth asking
1. Is my business eligible?
Start with the specific grant’s current requirements. Check its location, industry, business-stage, ownership, and permitted-use criteria before investing time in an application. Being a strong business does not automatically make you the right fit for every grant.
Choose FUNDED if you need help understanding where to look and how to assess opportunities. Choose the planner if you’re ready to work through eligibility checks and organize your applications.
2. Which application documents will I need?
Requirements vary. A grant may request business registration details, financial information, a project budget, or evidence supporting your business story. Use the funder’s own checklist as your source of truth.
FUNDED provides guidance on documents and registrations. The planner supports the practical work of budgeting, planning, and tracking applications.
3. What is a realistic funding amount?
Build your funding goal around a specific business need, not the largest award you can find. Explain what the money would pay for and how that investment would help your business.
The planner’s description references needs ranging from $500 to $50,000. That is not an award promise or a prediction of what you’ll receive. Available amounts, competition, and eligible expenses depend on each grant.
4. What happens after I win?
Before accepting an award, review its agreement for spending restrictions, reporting deadlines, required receipts, and any progress updates. Keep records of how you use the funds.
Neither product description specifically lists post-award reporting templates. For those requirements, follow the funder’s instructions directly.
